(2011) $150,000 - SCP headwork’s improvement. Made improvements to headwork’s screensand by-pass channel to better handle peak high flows caused by heavy rain events.
(2010 – 2011) $400,000 – MCP/SCP Disinfection upgrades. Replaced 20 year old Sodium
Hypochlorite (NaOCl) generators with modern, efficient and dependable generators. Staff installed equipment saving tens of thousands of dollars.
(2010) $300,000 – 3rd Ave. South - District Extension. Several failing septic systems. Health Department had tagged a few of the houses. Approximately 20 homes.
(2009 – 2010) $1.3 million – Pump Station #2 upgrade. Completely new pump station. New wet well, pumps, controls building. Needed slightly bigger station due to Evergreen heights andGreenbridge expansion.
(2009) $300,000 - MCP Clarifier improvements. Replaced all flights, chains, sprockets and drivemotors for two primary clarifiers.
(2009) $300,000 - SCP Centrifuge. Improved dewatering from 16% to 22% solids. Handles more gpm. Hauling fewer solids to Eastern Washington due to higher concentration of solids. Added dewatering redundancy.
(2010 – 2012) $2.5 million - Seahurst Beach Project –Installation of new pump station, replacement of nearly 5,000 feet of beach sewer line, piping improvements of an existing pump station. Working with the City of Burien, Army Corps of Engineers, and Department of Ecology& Department of Fisheries on an environmental shoreline improvement project.
(2007 – 2011) $4.6 million - Chelsea Park Project – Replaced over 64,000 feet of old sewer lines and a few hundred stubs in the heart of Burien. Improved treatment plant capacity, hydraulic loading on the sewer collection system and longevity of the sewer pipe.
