Customers of Southwest Suburban Sewer District

Due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, the District is taking every effort and is committed to the health and well-being of our rate payers and District staff and has suspending all non-essential face-to-face contact with the public until further notice.
The Board of Commissioners passed a resolution, suspending all late charges for delinquent accounts during this COVID-19 pandemic. 
If you are having difficulty paying your sewer service bill and need to make payment arrangements, or, have any other questions, please call the District office at (206) 244-9575.

In an effort to encourage transparency, the Commissioners of Southwest Suburban Sewer District would like to bring to your attention an Ordnance from City of Burien that will impact your sewer and water rates by at least 8%.  Below is excerpt from the City's ordnance.

Agenda Bill City Council Regular Business Meeting - 05 Oct 2020 - Department Finance Introduction to Ordinance No. 744, Providing for Water and Sewer Utility Taxes Summary: In response to the General Fund Revenue Options presentation on September 10, 2020, the Council directed staff to include the new Water and Sewer Utility Tax in the 2021-2022 Preliminary Budget and to return with an ordinance to impose the 8 percent tax on the utility districts...... The revenues will be deposited into the General Fund and are unrestricted. Staff will explore adding the Water and Sewer Utility Tax to the Utility Relief Program for low-income households with the utilities and will follow-up accordingly. Options 1. Adopt Ordinance No. 744 2. Do not adopt Ordinance No. 744......
